Coats Joins Providence Bank

Mr. Franklin (Eddie) Coats has joined Providence Bank as Vice President and branch manager at our Sunset branch. Mr. Coats brings over 20 years of banking experience, including commercial and consumer lending. Ted E. Whitehurst, President & CEO, stated, “Providence Bank is excited to have Eddie join us. We believe his knowledge of this market, coupled with his banking experience, will be a huge benefit to our customers.”

Mr. Coats graduated from NC Wesleyan College in 1987 with a B.S. in Business Administration degree. He is married to Polly Winstead Coats and they have two adult daughters and one son-in-law. They are members of First United Methodist Church in Rocky Mount.

Throughout his career, Mr. Coats has been actively involved in a number of civic and non-profit organizations. He is a current member and past President of the Rocky Mount Rotary Club, a trustee of the Upper Coastal Plain Council of Governments and a board member of Turning Workforce Development.
